Mail Magazine Series No. 1 "Kachozu ―Paintings of Beautiful Nature―"
On
the mail magazine series “Kachozu ― Paintings of Beautiful Nature”, we will be introducing traditional Kachozu
(paintings of plants with animals: ka=plant,
cho=bird, zu=painting) and artists, together with explanations about the
historical and cultural background of this painting style.
Exhibition Report No. 1 ―Yoko Tezuka―
Today, we are spotlighting a young talented artist, Yoko Tezuka (28), who dedicates her works in Japanese style painting and has won the grand prix of the REICOF ART AWARD 2007 held in December. The following interview was conducted at the end of January 2008, while she was having her individual exhibition at Shibata Etsuko Gallery in Tokyo.
